Irani Engineering has drilled more than 1000 wells throughout the US, primarily in California. We have completed and reworked more than 1,500 wells. Irani Engineering has drilled in over-pressurized, under-pressurized and normal pressure formations. We have drilled wells from 2000' depth to 14,500' depth. Irani Engineering was one of the pioneers who implemented Multi-Stage Fracturing in the Martinez gas formation and thus increased production fivefold. Irani Engineering also used Multi-Stage Fracturing in the oil producing Sespi formation in Southern California with success. At present we are designing a drilling program in an old oilfield in Illinois which will utilize long reach Multi-Stage Fracturing.
Using state of the art technology, Irani Engineering has successfully drilled many Under Balanced Vertical and Horizontal wells in California and Wyoming.
Irani Engineering has designed and drilled core wells for a Compressed Air Energy project in California. This project, the first of its kind, is a study of the feasibility of Compressed Air Energy in a permeable sandstone formation.
Irani Engineering pioneered the design of a unique Steam Injection project, the first of its kind in Ohio. This project has successfully increased production in an old oilfield. Although conventional Steam Injection wells are typically not drilled to depths greater than 2000', Irani Engineering designed a state of the art drilling program using vacuum tubing, which delivered heated steam with 90% efficiency to a depth of 3000'. The design was successfully implemented, and at present, one injection well and two producing wells have been put online.
Irani Engineering is the consulting petroleum engineering firm in charge of the design and implementation of drilling, completion and rework for twelve different Gas Storage Projects. Each Gas Storage project has been unique in its requirements, and therefore Irani Engineering has employed different engineering designs including Vertical, Deviated and Horizontal Drilling techniques and also Barefoot, Liner and Gravel Pack.
In 2011, Cardinal Gas Storage, an experienced Salt Dome Storage operator, challenged Irani Engineering to create an out of the box engineering design for a new Salt Dome Gas Storage project in Arcadia, Louisiana. The challenge was to reduce the hole opening, completely eliminate under-reaming, and save the client money. Irani Engineering met this challenge. The unique design was accepted and implemented resulting in 30 days of reduced drilling time and a savings of over 3 million dollars to the client.
Irani Engineering is currently working on a second Salt Dome project for Cardinal Gas Storage in Perryville, Louisiana.
Irani Engineering has drilled and completed Class 1 and Class 2 Injection wells in California. Irani Engineering is experienced at obtaining necessary permits from the EPA and the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal.
